Are you going to be staying up all night watching the election? Having your friends over? Why not make grass-fed nachos? They are delicious! You will need a bag of organic corn chips(they taste so much better) and some salsa and sour cream! I like to make a big plate of nachos and then let my guests make a small serving letting them add salsa and sour cream to their liking. This recipe is great with red wine or a nice lager!
Chili Con Carne
Ingredients:
1 pound La Cense ground steak burger
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic
1-14 oz can pureed tomatoes
2 teaspoons dried Mexican Oregano
2 tablespoons ancho chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons ground coriander
1 cup beef broth(optional)
Salt, cayenne and pepper to taste
Preparation: Brown meat in large heavy pot at a medium high heat, drain excess fat if desired. Add onions and garlic sauté until soft about ten minutes, reduce heat add tomatoes and spices. Salt and pepper to taste, if you like your chili hot add cayenne pepper (1 teaspoon for medium and 2 teaspoons for hot) but be careful!
Nacho Sauce
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoon flour
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup milk
salt and white pepper to taste
Preparation: melt butter in sauce pan add flour until it become a think paste(you might need to add a bit more) add milk and whisk warm over a low to medium heat then add cheese and warm until it is all melted and golden! Season! Serve nachos right way! Enjoy! If people want more nachos you can easily make another batch of the sauce it is better fresh!
Assemble the nachos with chips, chili con carne, nacho sauce, olives, salsa and sour cream! Enjoy!
